I am going to book a flight from BKK to Krabi return, the only StarAlliance airline on the route is Thai Airways. for the extra 3000 Bhat it will be a lot more comfortable than flying one of the low costs like 1-2-go Air or Nok Air.
My question is that when I book online is there a place where I can AirCanada Aeroplan Number and get AP miles for this flight? Are they regular miles or will I get status miles?
Any help would be great

Often in Thailand, I take the discount carriers. TG product is pretty good, but a little steep if you're flying around alot.
I've been told that the discounters that fly into Krabi are flying really old planes, that it's rush seating, and aren't really reliable on the time table side of things. The difference round trip is $93.30 CND, so on the surface might be a little steep, but given I'll have access to the lounge in BKK I'm sure I can even up the spread a little bit before I board.
You are right though, if I was going to be doing lots of flying within Thailand it would be more economical to go with the discount airlines.
Thank you very much for answering my AP points question.

It's true that the domestic flights are often delayed. Unfortunately, all the carriers play the game. The fact that you're flying TG doesn't help avoid this. You just have to get lucky.
Cancelling/merging flights, and then delaying until all the uninformed passengers finally show up, or just delays while more tickets are sold are common games.
At the old BKK, AOT would sometimes close a runway when VIPs flew in, backing every flight up for hours. Once again delays that aren't exclusive to any particular carrier.
I've got lots of good things to say about TG. But the discount carriers do a great job also... for what they are.
