OT - headphones adapter

Posted by wktd on January 6th, 2009
  • I've lost my headphones 2 prong adapter needed for AC flights - anyone know where I can get a replacement? Have tried local Futureshop, BestBuy, Circuit City without any luck.

    thanks

  • I made a dongle with the two pronged plug from a set of the regular onboard throwaway headphones and a female 1/8 stereo jack I had laying around. Total cost was ~ $.50 and perhaps 10 minutes with a soldering iron. Certainly I solved the problem in less time than it would have taken if I tried driving all over town to find one.

thanks for all the ideas - I'll try Doc Fraud's suggestion first.

  • i got one off eBay. $5 incl shipping.

  • I've bought one before from Batteries Plus, and The Source.

  • why wouldn't they be allowed? It was only exUK flights that had the restrictions on electronics, and they have since been relaxed.

  • Do you have QC 2s? Bose store in Vancouver replaced mine free of charge ^

  • I have the Bose headphones and assumed they wouldn't be allowed on flights. What is the situation with headphones you want to bring on board?
