calling XNS / XBMSP

Posted by anonym on January 6th, 2009
  • hi.
i am wondering if its possible to launch a file on a server with either of these protocols. i have tried everything i could think of.
i though something like xns://192.168.0.5:1400/musicvideos/test.wmv would work but unfortunately not. xbms does not even try to connect to the server. i unfortunately cannot get smb working on my setup so i have to use xns or xbmsp server's. they work great other than the fact i can't launch the file from the server. if you navigate through the menus to get to the file and launch it, it will play with no problems. i need this for some new features in launchbrowser. anyone got an idea.
    cheers.

  • just so you know, we removed xns support altogether
ok xbmsp then. i'm not too fussy about the protocol i just want something to work. cheers

  • i had tried with xbmsp but hadnt configured properly so it does work. cheers

  • not that i realy care, cos i found this feature quite pointless, but can i ask why?
